Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician born in Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to join J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. The label released her first EP titled Pho in October 2016 where she started getting noticed. The album that she released as her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music on the internet in 2012 when she launched her debut mixtape called Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography In 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to share her music over the web, including her own release single Bound. The track Sweat it is featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album which dropped on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's references. In the following calendar, her songs was played throughout Dreamville.
